Purchased a slightly used Flagstaff HW29SC (HW296 brother). Any tips anyone can share?

Take the time to look up and review YouTube videos, and carefully review all topics in this forum...make sure you understand all maintenance needs and perform them.

Congrats on your Flagstaff HW29SC! First mod I did when we bought our Fleetwood HW popup back in 2004 was to do the Reflectix mod in the tent end window areas to help when running furnace or AC. Link: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...93C48A980711D6. Second thing was to get some space blankets to cover the tops of the tent ends to help with keeping the sun off and also the pine sap from overhead trees. You can look at Popup Gizmos (https://www.popupgizmos.com/) to get the idea but the space blankets were cheaper and very affective.

What specific maintenance should I be aware of?

Start with condition of tires, when were wheel bearings last repacked, how do the LP lines look, was water heater ever flushed out, condition of water heater anode rod if you have one, age and condition of battery, lift mechanism, interior AC filters.

Nice looking rig, congrats!

Tips -

* always make sure the vinyl/canvas is completely dry before storing.

*If something doesn't move/slide/work, don't force it, stop and investigate.

*Always double check, maybe even triple check, that the latches are undone, before cranking up.

*Thoroughly check all roof seams regularly, especially seams around the side walls. Maintain the roof seals.

*Put a little baggie inside, use it to store/collect all the little screws, washers, bolts, knobs, caps etc, that you find on the floor each time you open up!! Seriously, someone recommended I do this when I got my HW27KS, I laughed, but it's so true!!

*Have fun!

Also, do you have any pics of the inside? I'd like to see the color scheme

We setup today in the driveway and noticed this plastic strip, that holds the canvas needs replacement. Does anyone know what this is called and a spot to order online?

Call Flagstaff parts at the number below, to get the part number of the part you need. You may have to get the dealer to order the part for you.

Larry,

Thank you for your reply. I had no idea what the part was even called. I emailed Kathy Swope from your list with a few pictures and she emailed back, a few days later with this response.
PART # F100104263 -- SLIDE TRACK - PFL: TRACK ONLY, SLIDE TRACK FOR CANVAS, PLASTIC - WHITE - 74 1/2" - V# 100976 | REPLACED V# 100975

COST $ 3.70 EACH.

I ordered a few of them from Forrest River. Once I had the part name and the number, a search here found a few other members with the same issue.

Thanks again Larry for the lead.
