Help with broken fitting

So I found a leak coming from a fitting in my water line on my 2006 1640LTD Rockwood. What I thought was just a coupling though turns out it's like an in-line check valve?? Is this normal to have , does everyone have one? The reason I ask is I can't seem to find a local parts store that carries them and this leads me to believe maybe it's not a common setup? Think I'm ok just to replace it with a coupling to get up and running for a few days? I've attached a pic of the fitting.

No picture attached. Is it the check valve for the black tank flush? They are prone to leak

That's weird, not sure why it didn't attach. Let's try again.

No it's on a freshwater line.

Just search for Barbed Check Valve of the size needed and you'll find plenty. Uline has plenty of them.

Having said that, I'm not sure why it's there, unless the faucet folds down into the sink, then it would be used as a backflow preventer in case water got left in the sink and the faucet got folded down.

I suspect that is the check valve that prevents your water connection from filling your fresh water tank...

Without that in place, as soon as you turn on the water you'll fill the fresh water tank and overflow it.

Assuming the setup is the same as on my 1640ESP...

There is usually a check valve "somewhere" at the city water inlet. The reason for a check valve at the city water inlet is so the 12V water pump does not pump water out that connection, especially when it is only capped with a rubber plug that would blow out!!! The 12V water pump its self has check valves to prevent reverse water flow so city water does not fill and over flow the fresh water holding tank. Simple fix. Just get another in line check valve for the cracked one and all is good. No worries.

Thanks for the clarification Splitshaft! I had it backwards in my head...

Home Depot, WalMart, Lowes and that fails, piece one together with what they do have.

Sometimes in the sprinkler section you can find small inline check valves.
