Here is my Brand New Tow Truck

I just bought this Brand new 2020 Ford F-150 Limited Fully Loaded to tow my HW296 with.

I've gotta setup the Pro Backup Assists.
I've got some measuring to do to set it up.
I've got a sticker to place on the Campers frame, 7 to 21" from the center of the ball.
Then I got to measure from the license plate to the middle of the both tires, then measure from the camera on the tailgate to sticker on the frame., then I got to put the readings in the truck on the center info screen in the dash, if it shows a red circle around the sticker on the frame I can complete the setup, if not I have to check my measurements again then try the readings again.
When it is complete to finish it I have to drive forward between 4 to 25 MPH to complete the setup Fully.

This Truck is rated for 9300 Lbs to tow, this will be more than enough to tow my HW296 with. Click image for larger version

Beautiful truck!
Once you get it set up, you'll be taking all the fun out of backing up the trailer. That'll put your backup helper out of work.

Hmmm, good back up helpers are hard to find too. Speaking from experience of course. :-P

Truck looks great!

Nice truck! I have a 2018 XLT and love the truck. The 3.5 pulls my 6k trailer with ease, and even though it is s lower level trim, the ride is fantastic. I took it on a 200 mile (Almost all highway) trip yesterday and at 75 the truck returns great mileage.

I’ve yet to set up the backup assist. I keep telling myself I’ll do it, but just haven’t done it. If you do, let us know how well it works.

Very nice! You have the biggest Pop up out there, I'd like to know how it feels towing that beast and with 9300 lbs of towing, you shouldn't feel anything behind you!

Enjoy!

Nice truck. You may find that the location of the jack on the trailer blocks the camera's view of the sticker when turned in one direction or the other. Once the camera loses view of the sticker, the backup helper is no help.

Please take no offense from this but I have a 2019 F150 Lariat with that backup thing and I will never use it. I have two mirrors and have drove truck and trailers for 50 yrs. Was driving tankers to farms at 15 picking up milk and taking it to dairy’s. I do use my wife on my blind side once in a while and that’s a good thing.

Nice ride, somewhere down the road you're gonna want a bigger trailer.

No my wife and I love our HW296 you get the air movement like a Pup, plus we hate AC to cold for us at our age. We don't feel the heat much anymore.

Nice truck. Looks like you got the Rapid Red. Nice color. I didn't like the previous Ruby Red all that much. It kept screaming 'old man'. The Rapid Red is more Red and much better IMO.

I just got my 2019 in January 2020. I wanted the deep discounts so I got a 2019 like I would had ordered it.

I have the Max Tow package but Ford literature is opposition to each other so I either have 10,800 lbs of towing or 12,700 lbs of towing.

With my second 2716g falling apart yet again, wife wants to get rid of it and never get another Forest River product. I'm sort of in agreement.

We are deciding if to go to a 32' bunkhouse or a smaller 25' to 26' bunkhouse. We came from a 29' bunkhouse when we traded it for the first 2019 2716g.

So getting the Max Tow Package worked out for us since a travel trailer is likely in the not so distant future.

BTW, never set up the Pro Backup Assist in either my 2016 F150 or my 2019 F150, even when towing my previous 29' bunkhouse. Figured I'd lose my skill to do it if I let a nanny do it for me. Not that hard to do anyhow after you get use to doing it.

Good luck with your new F150, the 3.5L Eco and 10 speed trans, make for some muscle car performance.

If you really like the "nannies", maybe a Tesla Cybertruck is in your future?

Gadgets are nice but I hate em ! You get used to the things and when they go " tilt " and you have to go commando again it kinda rubs me the wrong way .
