Yes my water filter is exactly above all the electrical fuses and other electrical as well
With a pc of almost plywood less that 1/8” thick. Not water proof what’s so ever Lol

Mine isn't in the electric area luckily. It's under the couch with the furnace and water pump, just horribly placed over the water lines.
Wrap a plastic bag around it before you unscrew it.
If it's an FR1/KW1, you might want to remove it before it cracks and floods your rig. Lots of threads here reporting this problem. A 67 cent coupler from Home Depot fixes the problem.
Is the coupler you used specifically made for pex? I hate that filter. We have to get our son to remove it as it takes a contortionist. I appreciate your adding pictures so we can picture exactly what's needed.
I'm s fulltimer. After using my HWH for 4 years one morning hot water would not come out. I found a check valve on the hot water output side that had frozened shut. It's used to keep antifreeze from fill-in tank when winterizing. I pull the check valve and all was good. Suggest you first open the HWH pressure relief valve and see if water comes out. If so then your input is fine it may be this check valve on output. If water does not come out of pressure relief valve then water is not getting to the tank. Hope this helps.
