Is it possible to increase tire size from 12" to 13" ?

Hello

I own a 2021 Rockwood Freedom 1940 LTD tent camper and wonder what it would take to increase wheel size from 12" to 13". My goal would be to improve road clearance. Would I jeopardize the trailer axle if I did this ?

Before getting the 1940 LTD, I owned a 1640 LTD. I think both of these tent campers would look better and tow better on dirt roads (roads less traveled) if they had larger diameter tires.

Anyway, I am looking for thoughts from anyone who has done or thought about doing this. Also, if you have done it, how did you do it?

If you can get wheels that fit your bolt pattern and will clear the wheel wells, no probs.
If you can shift from 12”s to 13”s, you’ll have a lot more choices of load and speed capacity.
And you can “flip” the axle under the springs for more clearance.
