Is this right? Canvas

Hello! I have a 2000 flagstaff 820 pop up. My inquiry is about how should the canvas be attached? I am currently replacing my pop up's support lift wall. I was removing all the hardware and saw that my canvas is stapled to the wall. Is this right? Is that how they are supposed to be attached?

I didn't have that exact model, but I did have a 1997 and a 2002 and they both had a plastic channel the top seam slid into. It wasn't stapled.

Ugh...I thought that was the case! Off to search for parts. Thank you 007matman!
