Wink Locating VIN

Hi, y'all I'm new and just bought a remodeled 1999 Rockwood Premier pop up. Can anyone please tell me where I might find the VIN? I've crawled all underneath and searched the tongue also. No luck. I don't have title and the girl I bought it from doesn't remember the original owner's name. She never titled in her name while redoing it and never used it. I live in Mississippi and the tag office said no VIN, no title, no tag. I do see a sticker on the right side near the front but of course it's painted over.

Anyone have any great ideas so I can get camping? HELP! Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

There should be a sticker on it (Usually on the left side toward the front) with the weight information. It should be in the same general location.

Yep, should a white factory weight sticker on the inside of a cabinet door. It'll have the VIN printed there.

Hopefully this pic will help:

thanks, y'all. I'll keep looking. She totally gutted it and even redid portions of frame. I haven't had any luck finding anything.

Did the PUP happen to have an expired license tag on it? If so, maybe you could have your State Patrol run the plate for a VIN? Or, maybe the person you bought it from has the plate? Just thoughts....

no. I'm really screwed. she never tagged it and it didn't have the previous tag on it either. Guess this one will be used for backyard camping. I'm out of ideas.

In our State one can get an inspection by the State Patrol. They hsve technicians that can find hidden VIN's.

If there is none then "Plan B" is to have it treated as an "Owner Built" and they will assign a new ID number which then has to be stamped on frame. Usually on tongue.
I believe a bond is required to be posted for a given period of time until all chances of it turning out to be stolen have expired.

Contact your Department Of Licensing main office and don't just take a clerk's word.

It will be a bit of a bureaucratic challenge but there is a process for dealing with your situation.

Thank you @TitanMike! I’m going to give it another look over. There is a sticker on it but it’s painted over. Will def try that route next.

You might try the Citrus based Goof Off to carefully remove paint without destroying information on sticker. Go slow as you don't want to remove the good stuff.

Or lightly buff the sticker with some 4/0 steel wool. Start at the edges and work your way in. Don't scrub, just buff. Use a slow process.
