Mattress Topper

Can anyone recommend a particular mattress topper? Our few camping nights this past summer had us aching from those mattresses.

I looked at Walmart, but the foam egg crate style ones seemed cheap and thin. Anyone use a memory foam? I looked at Amazon, but there was like 2000 results.

I used the search function here, but no luck.

Thanks

We added a 4" gel memory topper, well worth the extra money!

We bought a 3" Serta Rest memory foam topper, it is egg crate, and was a little less expensive then the Serta Memory topper, also 3". The more expensive may not have been egg crate, but solid. Unboxed it today in the RV, to air out a bit. Feels like 3" of dough. ;-) It's gotta help with the plywood like mattress we have in the RV.

I bought a 4" memory foam topper off of Amazon. It made a huge difference. One of my best investments. Sleep Number has a pretty good RV mattress if you can afford 500-600 dollars.

Novafoam 4 " topper from Costco. Doesn't stink and is very comfortable. I like my RV bed better than our home bed now.

Thanks all. I have found a few online at Costco and filtered Amazon's results to a few. I will definitely go memory foam of some sort.

How does everyone deal with the extra length of the topper?

We pulled the mattress down added long narrow pillows between the head rest and the mattress and covered it with the topper and fitted sheets. Works pretty good and makes the bed longer.

Any better ideas?

We have a Tempurpedic set at home and we swear by it but to get one in the 5w is not an option due to cost so we got the 3" Tempurpedic topper from Bed Bath and Beyond with a 20% off coupon. Not quite like the home mattress but soooo much better than before!

Got a 3" Serta memory foam gel type from Big Lots. Perfect! $100 well spent.

I just replaced mattress with a 10 inch memory foam from walmart. I think much better than adding a topper.

When we had a TT I bought the extenders at CW. Inside a blue cloth carrying bag are 2 foam pieces to match mattress height and together equal the width. Also included is a cloth cover for them. Just went from a 'short' queen to a queen. I cannot say how well it works as we bought the 5er before using it.

Our Serta came from Big Lots also, DW has member coupons, which got ours down to $70. She's the coupon queen. :-)

We have a 2" memory foam from Walmart. Works OK. If your Walmart only had egg-crate, try another Walmart.

Do the mattress toppers impede the use of the heated mattress? Although this mattress is much more comfortable than our previous pop up, thinking a topper would help but we use the heated matress option all the time in the spring and fall.

Our pup didn't have space for a topper or the lid would be too hard to smush down. So we replaced one OEM foam mattresses with 4" purple foam, a much denser cell foam. Works great & only 1/2" higher than it was. Yes we lost heat to that mattress but never used it anyway. Hey if it ever gets too cold we'll snuggle together into the other bunk (it's bigger), which still has its heater PLUS body warmth is the best
