Beautiful color!
Why are you replacing the Canyon, if you're just towing a popup?

Thanks, my wife picked the color. The Canyon has 380,000 miles on it. I still drive it to work everyday. Plus, I wanted a new truck. [emoji2957]

Frank, what's the payload capacity of your Ram?
I'm interested in whether Dodge improved the 2019 1500s payload capacities.

If so, not much. I can't imagine hooking that fifth wheel up to my 2018 Ram 1500 Big Horn. I've got the best gears for towing (3.92), LT tires, and some suspension enhancements. But I also travel in the mountains.

Sure ... they did ... factory advertised 1900 door sticker on mine 1870 .... wheel base 4 inches longer than 2018 ... almost 15" rotors .... towing 11,610 ... GCWR 17,000 .... GVWR 6900 ... 3.92 ... 8 speed ... over 200 lbs removed from 2018 frame ... I upgraded to Michelin Load E LT 265 60 R20 ... wheel is a 6 Lug vs 5 ... wish it had come with 18" tires .. I have TPMS and Observation camera and will continue with upgrades .... Pulls straight and stops great Thanks for asking Frank

No mountains for us ... 95% Florida ... short trips 1-3 hours ... We are 3 years from full retirement and a new 3500 then all 4 corners by the way mine has all of that too... Thanks Frank

Your 5er has a pin weight of around 1,600 lbs. That leaves 270 lbs for you, any passengers, your hitch, and any gear.

Good luck.

Rockwood's published dry pin weight for the base trailer is 1456. But, sure, yours with options and full of gear is somehow 30 lbs lighter. Glad you're not driving on roads around me.

Good luck. (and that's not meant to be sarcastic. It's just a closing, as I wish everyone here luck and safety out there on the road).

No worries .... unit came in 150 lbs less than advertised ... not sure which end they took it off of ... truth be told do not know actual hitch weight ... rig pulls straight and stops great ... Thanks Frank
