Newbie with silly question

We recently bought a used Flagstaff by Forest River 12" pop up camper. I think it is from the early 2000's. when we use it, it is always strange to me that the stove and sink part that you life up (that also helps turn on electricity) doesn't also slide back a bit to be flush with the back of the camper and even with the refridge. I can't seem to find a way to do it, but want to know if I am missing something. You lift the front of the sink/stove counter to raise it, and you lift the back side to lower it. Hope I am explaining this well enough. Any feedback on if it does indeed slide back somehow, or if it does just poke out further into the small walkway? Thnaks in advance!

I had a 10' box, and the unit was on a hinge. It could not slide back. Some of the units were on lift arms that swung the unit into place. I always had a 6" alley behind the sink/stove that I stored narrow stuff in, and the space kept water and heat away from the tent wall.

Thank you for the response. That sounds exactly like what we have. Good to know it isn't supposed to go back further!
