There's a name for people like you and a place we wish you would go. Yours is a good question and one that would serve well to ask on its own, in its own thread.

As for the OP, I ran one of these in my PUP for years. My model was a Fleetwood Utah that had the slide-out dinette. On either end were the factory light fixtures. In the middle, right at the dinette, was just a little 12VDC pod. We had one of these that fit in and snapped to the pole that held out the slide-out roof/fabric.

The light worked as well as the ends. The fan was just OK. We would occasionally put it on a bunk end during nap time to move some air in the hot afternoon. I never felt like the fan moved much air relative to the noise. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't amazing, either.

Definitely worth having and I'd easily pay $25 to get one if I didn't have one.

Good luck.

Thanks for the input! I'm not too concerned with the noise because we will always have our 5 y/o twins with us who still sleep with a lot of ambient noise in their room (fans, window AC, or a sound machine. So the hum of the fan is actually welcomed. I also like the idea of the light, because with the curtain closed on the bunk end, the dome lights in the main cabin are of little use, so it's an added bonus.

I think I'll "splurge" for these...even if they're mediocre at best, it's the better alternative to a separate light AND a separate fan, neither of which will plug in to the factory dome.

Thanks everyone!

They are a bit noisy, and since they plug into the lighting circuit, you must turn on the main light switch, then turn off each light individually. Otherwise, you probably won't find much that's better.
