Outside power cord port

OK i don't know what this part is called that i need, so hopefully my description will help someone figure out what it called. Everyone just about has these on the outside of their campers. It's the port that your power cord is stored in. You open the hinged door pull out the your power cord then when you are done you push your power cord back in it. The problem with mine is the inside part of the port that is supposed to keep the prong end of the power cord from falling inside the area where the main supply of cord is stored is broke and my prong end falls inside that area which is too small for me to get my hand in there to pull my cord out. Either have to set up the camper or as i did tonight take out the 3 screws and break the seal on the bracket to get the cord out. I'm at home and just wanted to keep my battery charged so the camper is not set up. So hopefully somebody knows the proper name of this part is so i can order another one. Thanks joe

Power cord door. Simple replacement. Be sure to seal it.

In the short term until you replace the hatch, tie a string to the power cord right behind the plug, pinch the string in the door and you'll be able pull the cord back out without removing the screws or the hatch.

Thanks 5picker. Thought about doing that, or making a rubber stopper that i could place inside with a hole in it for only the cord to pass thru. the original plastic inside stopper has all the slits broke off so nothing to keep the whole cord from going in too far.
Yep already resealed the port back up. But hopefully i can find a replacement so it doesn't keep happening. Thanks Flybob that's what i need.

Never like those external ports. Even the slits that keep the Plug, gas connection etc from falling in, let bugs, ant etc in. I have taken a bath scrunggy apart and tied parts of it to the lines, so the port is filled with a tight screen like mesh. Keeps the bugs out and the lines from falling in. Just my solution.

That's a good idea BOb414 never thought of using the scrounge mesh.

Outside power cord port

If you are a DIY guy like a lot of us, you can do yourself good and replace that door with a power inlet and use a removable power cord. I did my 2005 TT that way and used the pull cord as my extension cord. The whole thing cost me less than $30 with all parts coming from Amazon. No more bugs in and no more pushing or pulling out the cable. Just my $0.02

Why not change it out to shore plug? That way the cord disconnects and nothing falls in or breaks again.

I probably could have done that, but i already ordered the port from Amazon. It came to $14.99 with Tax. I place some mesh in it before i install it.
