Does the screen room help stabilize the awning especially in the wind

Isn't the Cherokee new too? How is it for towing the 296? I've been towing mine with a GMC Acadia and it does fine, but thought about the cherokee next time around.
The Acadia is rated to two 5300 lbs but the cherokee is something like 7300 if I remember correctly.

I also have the screen room set up and yes, it does help in high winds, but can still lift. I tie down the awning with cords set out diagonally, and have spikes at the bottom of the awning legs and through the eyelets at the bottom of the awning in a couple of places. I have had the misfortune of having a sudden strong gust come up on a nice day (no wind), lift the awning, hit the roof and damage the connection between the awning post and the frame. Always best to tie the thing down, no matter what.
We survived a night on the sand bar in Carleton, Quebec with winds that I thought would overturn the tent camper. We closed up the awning and screen room the next morning, but both survived the night intact.

Legs to the ground. I put spikes through the loops at the bottom of the vertical poles; can't do that when run back diagonally to the camper wall.

Ya I to mine down too the support poles do you attach them to the camper or put them perpendicular to the ground I have found that attaching them to the sides of the camper pulls the roof to much

Yes it does especially if you have the privacy flaps down.

No that's a Brand New Ford Explorer Sport with a 3.5L twin turbo, no issues hauling the 296, I'm not even using a trailer brake, does not push the car at all I can't even tell it's back there.

Bump
It’s that time of year when folks start heading out. Didn’t want this thread to fall through the cracks. Enjoy seeing those campsites.

Love the screen room. would love to add one. Where did you order yours and do you order by your PUP model or have to measure?
