Popup Camper lift issues

I have a 2004 Flagstaff 228d pop up camper. Currently the winch will lift the roof to about half way open and stop. From there it will only lift the roof a few inches at a time before it will shut down. It's taking me over a half hour to fully lift the roof up. What could be my issues and any suggestions on how to fix this issue.

Thank you,

I had a 1999 popup and I had to replace my winch motor, when it started doing that. Usually, it is shutting down, because the motor is overheating. Once I replaced the motor, it had no more problems. It was a different model, but had the same issue.

Also, I did lube the push tubes, cables, etc. and it helped a little, but still overheated. It just took 4 tries to get it fully deployed, instead of 6. It took replacing the motor to get it back right.

Check here: http://www.robertssales.com/articles...ked_winch.html IF this is your lift system, this is a good troubleshooting site.

I have a 2015 Rockwood and my first trip out the winch quit after about 2 inches up and than the gear sheared off when I was raising it manually. Now two years later the winch broke again and Forest River told my dealer it's not covered. But my brochure says it has a 5yr warranty on lift system? Not happy with this trailer so far.
