Power lift for Flagstaff 228 D

Hi
I have a Forest River LTD/MAC 228 with a Power Lift system. I'm unable to get the top up. The electric motor does not engage when the switch is depressed. The battery is working correctly. Sticking the manual crank thru the hole in the electric motor housing and turning the bolt does not move then move the roof up. Is there any way to lift the roof manually?
Also, How I check what the problem may be.
The camper manuals I have refer only to the manual operated crank. I do not have a manual for the electric operated lift nor the electric connections.
I'm out in Montrose Colorado, but I'm unable to camp.

yikes - if you cannot raise the roof by turning the bolt in the manual access hole - the problem could either binding in the cable system or the gear mechnism on the winch.

Note that the manual bolt is an insanely slow way to raise the roof. Took us litterally 20 minutes of cranking to get ours all the way up, but there is virtually no resistance.

Alvaro,
On my 625D one time I tried to raise it and just got a loud clicking sound.
Tried the manual crank, same clicking sound only much more time between the clicks.

Found out that the bolts that hold the electric motor in place had come loose and the worm gear was skipping. The manual crank simply connects to the end of the electric motor so it was no help either.

After holding the worm gear tight against the drive gear and tightening the bolts, we had no further problems.
