Power Winch

I am thinking about putting a p30001 power winch on my Flagstaff 176ed with 13,000btu ac unit on top. I would like to know if this winch will be able to lift the weight of the roof with no problems.

I did the same thing with my Flagstaff 228. I purchased an ATV winch from Harbor Freight for $69 and replaced the manual crank.. Works perfectly... In reality, the top isnt that heavy..Just big and bulky....However, I do carry the manual winch with me at all times just in case. It's hid away, but I know its there... I think I had to drill two holes for the wich mount that's it... A few more for the control power electrical box...

Does your winch from Harbor Freight have automatic stops for up and down, and can you stop the down when ever you want. If it does can you give me the name and model number.

It does not have an automatic stop at the top or a bottom. I have the side rails marked where I need to stop it. Yes you can stop the top at any point going up or down.

I hate to bother you again, but could you send me pictures of how you mounted the winch and the up and down switch. I would appreciate it very much. I promise not to bother you anymore. My e-mail address is mllangston@verizon.net
