Repeat Lift System Failure - 2017 Rockwood HW296

Has anyone ever removed electric motor and replaced with manual crank on HW296

I don't own a HW296 but I do have a 206STSE, still a Forest River P/U.
I removed the electric winch because it was just too noisy and erratic.
I called Goshen Stamping, gave them the model and year of my camper and they got me the manual winch and crank handle, both for less than a hundred bucks.
The electric winch came out and the manual went in easy pecey nice and easy. Attach cable to the winch spindle and all done.

I really appreciate your comment. I have tried to get a dealer do it for me so I don’t mess anything up. But it doesn’t seem like anyone is willing to try. I may just have to give it a try myself. Thanks again
