Rockwood 1910 hot water from cold tap, nothing from cold tap

First time poster, it's always with a problem lol.

We are currently on our second trip with our trailer. The first trip we were connected to a water supply and everything worked great.

This time we filled up at The filling station when we arrived at the park. I have turned on the water heater, and the water pump. All seem to be well. However, right now when I turn on the cold top inside or on the outside I'm getting nothing but hot water.

When I turn on the hot water taps I'm getting nothing at all. I'm a bit confused since everything worked when we were connected to a water supply. I'm assuming there must be something with the pump? Or am I supposed to switch another connection or something

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. I have not heard of this problem before. I think the first thing to do is make sure your bypass on the WH is not open and all valves are in the correct positions then gets all the air is out of the system including the HWT. Start your pump being careful lift the pressure relief on the WH to remove the air (wear gloves this will be hot) then see if the system will build pressure. If so purge all the lines one at a time and see what happens. good luck

Thanks, I will check it out tomorrow. Today was a holiday here in Canada and I need a screwdriver to access the back of the WH. Based on what you are saying, can I assume that the bypass on the WH has nothing to do when you are hooked up to a water supply?

If so it makes sense why our first trip was fine.

Because of COVID I didn't get a walk through of the trailer when I bought it. I kinda wished I had lol.

Just to close the loop on this and for any future searches.......

The issue was the fact there is a valve between the fresh water tank and the pump. It was closed, so the only available water was whatever was in the water heater.

Once I opened up the valve, all was fine........
