Rockwood freedom overhead lights and fan not working

Good evening everyone, A few months ago I bought a 2006 rockwood feeedom 2080 in the middle of winter. The other day we had great weather and opened it to see what I actually paid $1100 for. Well it was a great buy!! Very happy. Now the only bad... I either do not know how to turn on the over head lights and fan or they don’t work. I used both battery and generator with no luck. All outlets, carbon monoxide and outside lights, water pump all work. I only opened it to look it over..and didn’t have time to trouble shoot.

Anyone have any suggestions? Fuses were all good. Also need to figure the location of the wires that go to the roof.

This is my first camper, I have no idea how to use everything. Is there a good manual to look for? Forest river did not have a manual due to it being a 2006.

Thank you for any help pointing me in the direction of trouble shooting the lights. My guess is the are ties together.

did you lift the stove/sink into place? There is usually a cutoff switch that is pressed when this is in place that will allow the lights and fan to work. it is a safety feature so when you close it up - the lights can't come on and burn the tenting.

yeah - the manufacturers do not provide wiring diagrams. you may want to go over to the electrical subforum and read up, there is a posting called "the 12 volt side of life" you may want to look at. At least it will explain the general stuff, maybe give you further insight into the electrical systems.

If it’s like the one I had . There are two contacts under the sink /Stove. That Make contact when it is in the up position. And furnish power to the top.

It's been awhile since I had a pop-up but I remember that the power going to the roof went up one of the corners. I had an issue that turned out to be a bad plug at that corner. Just giving you another place to look.
Enjoy it. Nice not sleeping on the ground...

Just an update on the light and fan issue. It’s fixed. One of the wires came of the switch under the sink. Plugged in the connector and pushed switch and BAM!! Lights and fan work. Very easy fix. Thank you for the help!
