safeguarding the electric winch

I want to protect my electric winch from the courious or mischevious. The up/down lever is clearly labeled and could be tempting to some people/kids.

First, anyone have a problem with unauthorized use of the winch after you have set up?

Second, I saw a youtube where the owner of SOB (some other brand) removed the automotive blade fuse and stored it to protect his power tongue jack. Reviewing the manual for my "powerwinch" from Carefree of Colorado indicated it has one 40 amp breaker and no automotive blade fuses at all. So my question is can anyone suggest an easy away to "disarm" the power winch other than a battery kill switch?

Your comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I would just find the positive wire from battery / fuse
add a switch to the fuse wire
Hide switch in convenient place near by

Taking out the fuse is a PITA especially for me ... as I won't remember where I put it
