Solar suggestions for 1640 ESP

Hi, New to the forum!
I already have a Renogy 100W folding Solar panel the connects into the go port but I am looking for a roof top solution. I was looking at the Renogy Flexible Panel but I don't know if the 50W will work or not. Plus Im not sure if I need a controller like I did for the fold up. Any suggestions?

Depending on your electric usage, 50W may or may not be sufficient. Any significant Solar panel that charges a battery needs a charge controller to prevent overcharging and possible damaging the battery. With the possible exception of trickle charging solar panels.

After 7 inches of rain and cloudy skies for 3 to 4 days, I was thinking of a hydroelectric system for extra power. (Ha Ha!).

Solar is good for sunny days, but you have to plan for cloudy days.

Thanks Bob! Yeah I was thinking a 100W flexible panel
With a waterproof controller to charge while we are driving. We get so much sun here in CO I didn’t think about the data of cloud cover. Something to think about.

Jarhead, Not part of your question….I’m researching tires so I’d be interested in the size, load rating, and brand of wheels and tires delivered from the factory on your 1640ESP Thanks, OnTheHill.
