Suburban furnace

Possible dumb question...

So far, we've only dry camped in our pup. Next week though we're going to be at a serviced site (electric and water).

I know everything works off the battery when not plugged in (except the outlets). But what about when we're plugged in and I use an overhead light, for example. Is it drawing on the battery still? What about the DC bunk fan/lights? Fantastic Fan? And most importantly, the suburban furnace? Will all those automatically draw off AC power when plugged in? Is that what the converter does? There's an AC switch for the 3way fridge so I know what to do there.

Thanks in advance

All your 12V DC items (lights, fan, thermostat, pump, furnace fan, etc) work on 12V DC, period. When plugged in, the converter supplies DC power to your DC items and recharges the battery. When not plugged in, the battery supplies the 12V DC.

Thanks. I was just wondering if I'd still need the solar panel to recharge the battery, but I won't.

In the library section of the forum is some good reading, especially for those unsure how different things work. It includes many documents and tips provided by members here.

The 12v side of life is a good example of one of these documents.

I advise all newer R/V owners to look in the library and FAQ sections.
There is way more to this site than the discussion section.
