TPMS Didn't alert to blowout

Hi, My TPMS system (TireTracker TT-500) gives me great piece of mind. Just one word of caution...

A couple years ago, I had a blowout of one of my original Castle Rocks and the alarm didn't go off! I heard the blow out noise but, since it did not alarm, I assumed it was something else. Stopped within a couple miles anyway and saw the damage. After talking with the TPMS company, I decided that the blowout was so violent, the sensor was damaged. The sensor was still reading the pressure that the tire had been at right before the blowout. They sent me a new sensor and I immediately replaced all with Goodyears. Another reminder that no matter how good the technology is, nothing beats a driver that is aware of his environment. I will not make THAT mistake again!

Sounds like our last trip. We were 1/2 way out and the beeps started. We drive a motorhome so can't change our tires. Next exit had a truck stop so we limped there. They put on the spare. Suspected tire filler valve failed. This was on a dually so in driving low pressure the side wall was damaged. Went to a tire store and had a tire put on the rim (didn't want to drive without a spare)
But other than rainy we had a great final weekend. I guess it is better to have incidents on the last trip than the 1st.

So needless to say we changed the tire with the spare, another original Castle Rock, and headed back home. We weren't about to take any chances with the existing 3, or the spare. I kept my eyes glued to that TPMS. Tires are stamped 1218. So, with that said, we will wait until Spring for a new set of shoes.

First time using Trailer-Aid PLus......what a life saver!

Happy Camping, All!
How do you integrate a camper TPMS with the the tow vehicle system? I have a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado.

TST 507 helped us also. 2 additional points.
1. Our 5th Wheel is 34 ft, pulled by F250 and I did NOT need to install the repeater that comes with the 507 package.
2. Last summer the system WARNED us while traveling down hwy, and we were able to pull off and replace leaking tire (sidewall belt pinhole) before catastrophic damage. HOWEVER after putting on spare and driving less than 5 more miles Castle Rock on other side of RV failed and caused a little damage (that I was able to fix myself... fender flare fasteners).

So this is ALSO a plug for GoodYear Endurance vs. Castle Rock. We got 1-1/2 summers out of our Castle Rocks and about 15 camping trips. I pushed it too far and wish I would have gone GoodYear sooner. Lesson learned.
