Tire replacement help

New member here and this is my first post.

Wife decided she wanted to buy a popup this year. She found a 2009 Rockwood Freedom 1940LTD and just had to have it.

We've had this thing about a week and have been doing little repairs here and there. Tonight I figure I better check the tires after reading a few posts about the destruction a blown tire can cause.

Wouldn't you know... The camper is STILL ROLLING ON THE ORIGINAL TIRES! Date code 0808...

Needless to say I need to get new wheels on it before I go anywhere.

Here's where I need help. The tires on it now are on 12X4 545 rims. Tire size is a ST145/80R12 with 1220lbs load rating. Finding "name brand" tires in this size is proving difficult.

While I don't mind replacing just the tires, I wouldn't mind just getting a whole new set of wheels. I just don't know enough about wheel selection for a popup camper and what to look out for if I get different size than it came with.

Call retailer. They will help you. You can get just tires or the tires on the rim.

Carlisle Radial Trail RH is a fantastic tire. I replaced some on our popup with Carlisle and they rode great! they are a highly rated trailer tire. you might be able to find Maxxis as well, another great company.

If you do a search for the tires that IsleDog listed, you will find a ST145/R12. It does not list the 80 (this is the height of the sidewall as a percentage of the tread width). It lists the mounted height as 21.4". As long as you are close to that, you should be good. They show them as 8 and 10 ply tires, with weight ratings of 1220 and 1520 pounds, so the 8 ply tire should fit your need.
