Toilet Monitor

Is there a device that can monitor the black water tank? I see them in the new Rockwood pups and would like to install one in my current pup.

Thanks,
Steve

Not that I know of due to the black tank is above floor but below toilet so you can't access it unless you tear out the walls of the toilet area. I just shine a flash light down the toilet and look. The monitors aren't always right anyways. On the Grey tank just wait when it's full it backs up in the shower.

Careful regarding the grey tank. Mine backed up into the shower, then proceeded to run out onto the floor from underneath the shower. Guess the shower drain was not sealed properly. I camp with the grey valve open now since we camp at full hook up sites. I also learned the hard way regarding the black tank last week. We were camping with full hook ups again, but the black tank reached high enough to leak between the toilet and I guess where in connects to the floor. I had water, chemicals, and #1 on my floor. I was fussed at by the wife and advised to open black tank valve daily regardless of usage. My fault for not keeping a closer eye.

A well sealed toilet shouldn't leak at the floor flange.
You better check that.

Also, emptying the black tank daily is not a good idea.
You need to allow it to get close to full for it to evacuate the waste properly so that would mean adding lots of water to the tank to be able to flush properly at the end of the day. That's a HUGE waste of water.

No, I won't empty daily, but will keep better tabs on the level. I will have to investigate how its sealed.

Thanks (or Tanks) everyone. I'll leave it alone and shine a bright flashlight down…or guess. I've been doing fine for the last couple years with 12 national parks and one tribal park….just thought I might have an easy solution.

Cheers!

Wolfixum. If it like my pup the FWT is 20gal, water tank hold 6gal so you can fill both black and gray and still have 2 gal. In my opinion most people use more gray then black so hopefully ur ok. If the toilet over fills it just goes into the shower (gray) lol.
