The worst we get is 8 mpg towing the hybrid. We got around 13 mpg with our 3800 lb high wall. Not towing, I get 17-18 City but 23 highway. We tow with a V8 Durango. And yes winds do make a difference.
With my newer Ford F150 Screw 4WD 5.0L w/3.73, I constantly get 10.5mpg to 11.0 pulling the 2012 Jayco Jay Flight 26BH. This trailer is about the tallest wind sail out of any.

With my previous much smaller truck, the 2008 SPort Trac V8, I got around 8 - 9 mpg pulling the smaller Jayco Jay Flight 19BH, but when you strain the engine and the truck is shorter, more wind hits the trailer's flatter front face and your mileage goes down.

Wow! We have an F150 V8 and get about 15 mpg towing our HW296. So much better then when we towed with our Jeep that was around 8-10 mpg.

Nothing like reducing frontal area to improve mileage!
