Turn out the lights!

We got our very first 2017 Flagstaff Mac 228 yesterday! We are in love!!

Only one problem so far: How do you turn off the lights in the cabin?? I know that may sound dumb but this is our first pop up. The only solution we can find so far is to put the galley in the floor. Certainly you do not have to do that every night at bed time.

Maybe we missed this instruction on the walk through yesterday....

Thank you in advance for your help!!!

You don't have a switch somewhere on the light fixture itself, seen at the 8:45 mark of this video and the screenshot below it?

Welcome: Each light fixture should have a switch on it. Usually a slide switch just to the side of the light lens.

BTW, putting the galley down (or up) deactivates/activates the 12 volt power to inside your RV.

This is a safety feature on folding campers that turns off the power to the lights if you left them on by accident. This way you don't burn up something with the lights left on and the camper folded.

You have to have the galley up, then should be able to turn the lights on/off at the fixture itself.

On my old TrailManor folding trailer, this safety plunger switch was in the bathroom wall, that you had to have standing up to have 12 volt power inside the trailer.

We have round lights that do not have switches. I have taken each cover off with no switch found. Could this be a design flaw??

That is interesting. Are they push lights by any chance? Can you press in like in the center of the lens?

The wiring for the lights and fan run down one of the roof supports. I would try looking for a switch in the area of the supports. Can you post a picture of one of the lights?

Good deal....I mean on finding the button.

BTW, welcome to the forums.

P.S. If you ever name your RV as many people do, 'Motel 6' might be a good choice. You know for their motto, "We'll leave the light on for you". LOL

Actually, on some models the switch only cuts 12 volts to the roof circuits. On mine there are two switches under the galley; one to kill 12 volts to the roof when closed, the other to kill 12 volts to the water pump when closed; however, the detector which is 12 volts will still receive 12 volts, as well as any power meters or 12 volt accessory plugs you might install by tapping into the 12 volt circuits from the converter.

And the wiring runs down a seam in the sides; not down a support pole.
