water damage to lift mount on pop up

Hi,

on my odyssey to fix-up my 2006 Rockwood HW pop up camper before summer. My pop up has been in my driveway for 4 years and I'm discovering all kinds of things that need fixing along the way. The next, and hopefully last main problem, is that one of corners was damaged from the outside and some water leaked in. It looks like the two bolts that mount the bracket holding the cotter pin for the lift are about to pop out from the wall.

What is the best way to stabilize these two bolts ( see pic )? I thought about putting in a thick metal plate. between the inner and outer wall. I have sealant to seal it back up, but the main thing is to stabilize the lift so it doesn't collapse.
