2016 Flagstaff HW29SC

The water filter housing has a crack and replacement parts through forest river are out of stock.. is there an alternative?

Easy fix?

I have a 2018 HW29SC. I hate the filter location. Very hard to reach. I was going to bypass mine and use an external water filter. This could be done by using a pex tool and pex piping. I know big box home improvement stores carry the tool and clamps to clamp the pex pipe to fittings. They also carry short sticks of pex piping.

The housing is probably cracked from trying to get it out in it's "convenient" location.

yep - bypass it. my 2010 hw277, i was able to just unscrew the pex pipe ends from the filter top and put in a fitting from Lowes to link the pex ends together which bypassed the filter. my current hybrid, i had to cut the pex pipe and use shark bites to connect the ends to bypass the filter.
i use an exterior filter on the hose. it may not be as good rating wise as that high priced internal filter, but i am fine with that.

You can order the part straight from the manufacturer. I forgot to take mine out for the winter, and had to replace it.
