What is it?

Tried to use the power lift system on my 2016 207se today. Winch wouldnt work, voltage at batter terminals 13.7 vdc, attached to the battery terminal is a small gold box with the winch wire attached to it, when I hit the switch voltage drops to zero. What is that box? I know I probably sound ignorant. If I take the winch wire off and touch it to the battery terminal the winch works. I assume it's a type of safety and dont want to keep doing this. Any help is appreciated.

It could be a circuit breaker and needs to be reset. Check for a little button on the box
