Why Popups not allowed in some camps?
Can someone tell me why in some campgrounds they do not allow Popup Campers???? I understand some place like Yellow Stone because of bears but the cost of Texas????? Would like a reasonable explanation, not just because they don't like the looks of them.......

I'd guess it's that answer you don't want to hear. Just like some campgrounds don't allow RVs over 10 years old.

Not sure what you mean by "cost of Texas".
Are you talking about private campgrounds or public campgrounds?
The only public campgrounds that I know of, that ban soft-sided campers, is Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone.
Even Yosemite allows soft-sided campers.

Heck there are Class A only campgrounds. ?? Probably some tent only campgrounds They who own the park can set the rules. Just the great USA.

Their campground their rules is what I'd think.. Unless they have wildlife that like burritos (aka humans in a popup).

Correct on the “resorts”. We have stayed at one that had a minimum length to keep out pop ups. Think it was 25 ft as you checked in.

Most of the time those are campgrounds that I want to avoid anyway. My wife, kids, and I camped for 20 years in a tent camper and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We had a few experiences with people driving hugh MH making comments about other campers. I am not exactly politically correct, so my mouth told them what I thought of them and their attitude. We no camp in a 17' Viking TT and we still feel the negativity because we camp in a TINY camper. I got the TT because the kids are grown and the wife wants to make things easier for both of us.

Yikes! We avoid places like this! that excludes an entire camping population in small hard sides. our previous popup came in at just over 19 feet long in travel form. our 17RP is still around 21 feet. All scamps, most wolfpups, and RPODS are out then, among many many others. apparently my money isnt as green as someone who has a larger camper

It's probably all my fault...
My first TT, a 1978 Coachman Cadet, was 35 years old (we had it for 15 years) when I traded it in for my previous 2013 TT, and it looked like 10,000 miles of bad road!
It had so many hail dings in it and was falling apart at the seams, but pulled that thing all over Colorado and northern New Mexico.
Nothing worked in it, so I had named it the 'Tent On Wheels'.
It was when I told my ex-wife that I was going to have 'Trailer Trash' painted on the back of it when she finally relented to a new camper.
I loved that old thing...but it was almost always the worst looking camper in any park we stayed at.

The CG we are seasonal at allows pop-ups. But they do have a rule that you are only allowed a pop-up as a seasonal for your first year. Then you have to move up to some sort of hard-sided trailer.
I didn't even know about this rule until some friends of ours inquired about getting a seasonal spot near us.

thats goofy! i have seen so many wonderfull campgrounds that allow popups as perm sites. they just fold them up before they leave.

I have stayed at a lot of campgrounds that rule out pop-ups and even travel trailers. I see nothing wrong with that if you are willing to spend the extra money to stay at these campgrounds. It is their private campground and their money that developed these campground so, they can make the rules as they see fit.

I would guess because they can charge more for FHU 50a sites, and that's what they built, so that's what they sell. I could as easily ask "Why are there so many small campgrounds, especially public ones, that won't allow big rigs in?".
That's why there is Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry.

I also started in a pop up. I sort of like them.
