A general thought

Sorry, this is not RV related but simply close to my heart.

Are you aware what's happening in the dog rescue world? There was a run on dogs and the shelter were emptied. Now, they're back as their "owner" are fed up with having to care for them. Shelters are overrun and the killing begins. Ever thought about how much pet overpopulation costs the taxpayer?

I wonder when we pet lovers start to demand a change by letting our political reps and community leaders know that we are fed up with this and as well with the loose animal welfare laws.

Please, this is NOT a partisan problem. I know that the political opposition always simply says the opposite of what the reigning party does, but this should be something we all as pet lovers can solve in unison. Don't you think?

Some 4000 beagles have been rescued from Dr. Fauci's test lab. And will need to be adopted.

Yes. And there's transports from the dog meat industry and from rescues around the world...
and in the meantime, domestic puppy millers and backyard breeders add to the problem.

Maybe people would become more alert, if they would realize how much they pay for the livelihood of backyard breeders and puppy millers even if they buy a dog from them. Shelters need to be maintained, employees paid, and euthanasia is not for free.

There are countries that have managed the issue. Where a country doesn't have to spend millions of dollars to kill unwanted pets a month just because Jane Doe was too greedy to spay her dog or because John Doe is too lazy to go to work. Why should he? Just churn out another batch of Frenchies and let society take care of it.

Ok, I shut up. Just would be happy if you all could give it a thought, and next time, you go to vote, maybe you could ask your candidate what he or she is willing to do. you see, there was a bill on the table of NC, and it got shut down. Why? Because the commercial pet breeders voiced their opposition and we animal lovers didn't. Politicians go after topics they feel will give them votes.

Dogs are a lot of work.

“You can’t fix stupid”.

We are picking up a new Airedale puppy in two weeks. We have the time to take care of a dog. This is our fifth. Three puppies and two rescues.
