seen a few threads with the same topic lately. I'm not tech savy but would think most run off wi fi or internet and have an app on your smart phone. Im blessed to have a perfect dog that is no worries ever. a search might get you some info if you don't get good responses.

We use two cameras from Tend Secure (https://www.tendinsights.com) with their cell phone app to monitor out cats. It works very well for us. You have to have an internet connection and we use a Verizon Jetpack. We also have three cameras monitoring our home while we are gone. All five cameras can be monitored on our phones. The cameras have motion detection and can be set to record when motion is detected.
We also use a Temp Stick (https://tempstick.com/) to monitor the MH temperature when we are out. It works with the Jetpack. It will alert you by phone if the temps go above or below a limit set by you.
Both of these have no monthly charges and really do give us peace of mind when on the road.
