camping with a dog

I wasn't sure what to expect taking our puppy camping, but he makes it a lot of fun and he loves it.

We took our Boxer Brit camping all the time. We lost her back in January and miss her a lot. We "rescued" a black Lab (mostly Lab) boy from the shelter here a couple of months ago. He was heartworm positive, and he will finish his final recovery days in about a week. We look forward to taking him on his first camping trip. Below is Brit, then Boomer.

Jake camps with me or I don't camp. Most the time we invite Fred Jakes friend along and the tow of them have a great time camping plus Freds owner is good company.

We bring Abby our Aussie with us. She is more popular with other people than I am. She is a great camping dog because she does not bark, and she listens better than some kids.

We are newbys, just finished our 3rd camping trip. Our "kids" love it and they were one of the main reasons we bought a TT.

We couldn’t image not taking our cat and dog along camping. They love being in the Rv and going camping and look forward to it. If u enjoy yours pets as we do then there is no other alternative. Sorry I could not get a picture uploaded of everyone sitting around the campsite

Our dogs camp with us almost all the time.

They only bark when other dogs walk by. Heres how we keep them at our site

Sydney, our Springer boy goes with us all the time. He KNOWS when the TT comes home to be packed...... he's deaf and could never hear it. He KNOWS when Mommy starts packing things beforehand what's coming soon He can't WAIT to go in the TT to help get it ready. He is a totally fantastic addition to our camping days! We can't imagine camping without him.

We have 2 fur grandbabies, Shihpoo which is a cross between a Shih Tzu and a Toy or Miniature Poodle. Tucker and Rowdy. They are on their 3rd year camping with us and as Oaklevel said, they know when we are going and are waiting at the truck. LMAO

Camping with a dog

As fellow dog lovers, we take our shelter lab with us all the time but you have to watch as many CG, especially KOA restrict rotts, pits, and mixes containing them. Unfortunately they judge the breed's reputation and not the dog.

Dog is my COPilot

You may have some breed restriction issues in your future but rotties DO love to camp. We have been all over with our girls and find that state parks and ArmyCOE are the best. In fact Yegua Creek is one of our favorite places ever. Teach him early to get some excercise by bicycle cuz a tired dog is a good dog! When we are in your neighborhood we go to that fantastic dog park near Brenham. By the way, he is precious!!Best of luck with him!

This is how I spent most of our trip to Lakewood Campground in Myrtle Beach last month. Gretta loves to just ride and check everything out. Don't worry she gets plenty of exercise playing in the water after 5pm. She'll whine until we go for a ride. Usually gets 5 rides a day!

We have the same problem with ours including the golf cart.

My Choc. Lab and Golden Ret.,are the best traveling companions: they never complain about anything and they are happy doing whatever I want to do. Only negatives, they are terrified if the Co2 alarm goes off. When I first brought the new rv home they were also afraid of the "magic" slideout and automatic Dish satellite when spinning to locate the satellites. Now, they're old pros at it.
