Gracie is at the Rainbow Bridge
Today we had to let Gracie go. We rescued her 12 years ago when she was 2 years old and she has been our faithful and loving dog. Sadly she was stricken with kidney disease and seizures late into her life. We cut our camping trip short when she started to give in to the disease. It broke our hearts to bring her one last time to the vet. We will miss her greatly.

Sorry for your loss. The days my pets have left me in the past are some of the hardest I’ve known.

My wife and I have had 7 dogs over a 52 year period. I'm the one who had to go to the vets and have them put down. I'm a retired Firefighter and over the 35 years I was one I learned to try and not show my emotions when bad things happened but I'll tell you, I cried like a baby every time one of our dogs had to be put down. They are family members. We think it would be nice to get another one sometimes but then we think about it and we decide not to. We have a granddaugher dog and a grandson dog. One is an Irish Wolfhound and the other is a Bouvier. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry For Your Loss
It is so hard to say "goodbye" to our sweet lovable pet. They are a part of the family. My wife and I have had eight dogs in the past 32 years. It was so hard losing them. It hurts forever. We have a pet cemetery behind our house with 5 of our pets buried there. We have homemade headstones for each pet. One of our dogs, Missy, our first dog is buried in a private pet cemetery. We put flowers on her grave on Christmas and then once during the summer. I cry every time I go to place the flowers on her grave. We also put flowers on the graves in our back yard. Bless you and your family in this time of loss.

grieving
There's some "Mr. Bojangles" in every dog-lover. Remember the lyrics? "The dog up and died, and after 20 years he still grieves".

So sorry to hear this. We have had to take three of our rescue furbabies to the bridge in the past few years, and it never gets easier. Our pups liked to walk and run in the forest behind our house, so we had them cremated and my wife and I scattered their ashes in a beautiful place overlooking the valley below us, so they can sit and look out forever, just like they did when I would walk them. I still go out there and sit with them, in spirit at least.

So Sorry to hear about Gracie. They are our best friends and forever in our hearts.
We get closer every day with our 13 year-old Doxie mix. He goes to the vet on Wednesday for more blood work as his liver numbers have not been good for a few years and this year they started shooting back up.

Just lost my best buddy July 1st, I know what your feeling now, he was almost 14. He slept in my bed, sat with me on the couch and followed me everywhere I went.
