If you have been to Alaska....
If you have been to Alaska and taken your dog(s), what paperworkmis needed to get them across the Canadian and U.S. borders? Have been getting conflicting information. Any insight of experience would be greatly appreciated.

I have been to that site. I am looking for actual experiences
of those who have crossed the border, especially into the U.S.. So, no you don't have to do it for me.

Several trips to Canada with our Golden Retriever. Always brought his current shot records. Never asked to show them, either going or coming.

We did not have our dog when we went to Alaska in 2014 but we did have him when we went to Canada last summer. We needed documentation showing rabies vaccination and general good health from our vet. The border crossing agent never asked to see anything on the dog but some of the campgrounds wanted to see the documentation in order to stay there. Also keep your dog food in its original container when crossing the border just in case they inspect your rig.

We took our 2 cats with us last summer to Alaska. We were told ahead of time that we needed paperwork from the vet showing current rabies and also showing a current vet examination that was dated within 30 days of crossing the border so we had all of that paperwork with us but were never asked for it at any border in Canada or the U.S. One of the cats even jumped in my lap while I was talking to the border patrol agent in Canada and they still did not ask for any paperwork.
The border patrol was very concerned about any fruits and vegetables crossing the border and confiscated all produce we were carrying.

I believe the entry requirements into Alaska are more stringent than entering Canada.
From the Alaskan State Veterinarian web site; "These animals require a current rabies vaccination if three (3) months of age or older and a small animal health certificate issued within 30 days of import."

We had all pet health documentation but they never asked to see it. They did ask if we had it. Canada took all our dogfood.

Shot records and remember all dog food must be in ORIGINAL PACKAGING for verification of ingredients if requested. We were never even asked if we had a pet with us and had 2 dogs. All they asked us about were alcohol and firearms.

Went to Alaska last year...2 months; 13,000 miles. Going again this year. Crossed border several times. Had all vet paperwork, health certificates and was never asked for it; had it all Ready to hand them, even asked once if they wanted to see it. All 3 dogs in back seat so they were seen. Same questions at each crossing both into US and Canada. Do you have firearms, alcohol, drugs, bear spray? Once asked about plants. Maybe we were lucky. I don't know but were never searched or had anything confiscated. Enjoy your trip, take a full gas can, and slow down and experience the beauty and wildlife!

We have entered the USA multiple times with dogs. We carry vaccination records, municipal licensing documents and all health records. We have only been asked for it once entering the USA and never when returning home.

That helps. We are being told we do need a health certificate and that we don't need ahealth cerificate when entering theU.S..
