Do you ever have a problem with some parks having a limit on 2-3 dogs? With my 3 big dogs, sometimes I will walk 2 dogs and then walk 1 dog hoping the management doesn’t say anything. I haven’t been called out on it yet but kind of a pain.

I was told that our rescued "Cody" has the markings of a Duck Tolling Retriever. He is a mix but by all accounts a very good mix. There isn't a mean bone in his body and is pretty intelligent and friendly.

Response to mtnlver

I’v only been told by one KOA, out side of Lynchburg Va. that six dogs were two many. One campground in Florida after I had already arrived told me they had a policy of only three dogs per site. I quickly informed then that that kind of info ought to be on their website, she responded that it would be ok if I only walked then two at a time. Since I just drove 800 miles I agreed. All of the others i’ve stayed at have been okay with temporary fence I put up. As always you have to maintain control of your beasts or they will end you visit, overall it’s been positive.

Why are all my pictures sideways?

He is beautiful.

On the first day, God created the dog and said, "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years."
The dog said, "That's a long time to be barking.
How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?"
And God saw it was good.
On the second day, God created the monkey and said,
"Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh.
For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span."
The monkey said, "Monkey tricks for twenty years?
That's a pretty long time to perform.
How about I give you back ten like the dog did?"
And God, again saw it was good.
On the third day, God created the cow and said,
"You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family.
For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years."
The cow said, "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?"
And God agreed it was good.
On the fourth day, God created humans and said,
"Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years."
But the human said, "Only twenty years?
Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back,
the ten the monkey gave back,
and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?"
"Okay," said God, "You asked for it."
So that is why for our first twenty years, we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves.
For the next forty years, we slave in the sun to support our family.
For the next ten years, we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years, we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.
Life has now been explained to you.
There is no need to thank me for this valuable information.
I'm doing it as a public service.
If you are looking for me I will be on the front porch.

Hope this is fitting to the subject. Had to share.

Absolutely loved it! It explains a lot about me at least.

Happy Superbowl Day!

Late Friday night we took delivery of the "no more dogs" statement breaker.

Meet Kula.

She's a Carolina Dog that we adopted from a rescue in Texas. So far, she is a pleasure to have around the house and we hope to get her travelling in the truck and trailer with us this spring.

Had to post our photo, too.

Our 3 traveling companions and now just down to Annie Lenka on the left, Maggie and Harley are gone now and Annie tries to make up for the love lost from the other 2 - and does a good job. Annie Lenka was rescued the day before she was to be put down in a town animal control shelter and has been a joy to us as a happy, happy friend and companion ever since.

Just joined this forum as we just bought a Toy Hauler, and the first post I read is about dogs. Our 4 yo Doberman loves camping and loves the water. We've been camping in a conversion van so she won't know what to do with the space of the trailer. Taking it out for the first time this weekend.

Welcome. Do you know where a Doberman favorite place is?? With it's family. I have had 6 of them over the pass 40 years. Our first one took care of our son by staying by his side all the time. Great family dogs.

Our little pup actually goes up to the fireplace and whines until we turn it on and then stares at it. I just wonder what she will think of the campfires lol.

We are proud and blessed to have had the same bloodline of dachshunds since 1972! That's right, 48 years with same bloodline and at times three or more. Hard to let puppies go if your little gal whelped them. We now have the 9th generation and just got a little girl to help produce the 10th generation. She keeps us busy for sure but good company for him. These doxies tug at your heart with their eyes and their antics (and don't forget the face washes)

Life is too short to have only one dog so here are pics of my 5. We bought our tt to be able to take the dogs with us on vacation. Scout and Capucine top pic, Capucine and Dante middle pic, and Cesare and Cincia bottom pic. Taking the dogs with us does limit some things but then so do kids - its all about priorities.

Like park rules limiting the number of dogs.

5 certainly is a large number and I'll bet it causes people to do double-takes when you open the door and let them out when you stop.

Clearly the look on each of their faces says "What kind of fun are we going to have now?"
