Finally got a picture of our new german shorthair pointer, Talladega of Autumn Fire. She is a handful, but travels like a pro. 5 months in picture, 7 months old now.
And yes, she has her own camping chair!

Where Is Barklee?

I am so pleased to see the pictures of cool camping companions. I love my wife of 38 years, but my heart belongs to Barklee, our 5 year old border collie. I am new to the computer and the internet. As a retired teacher, I know there are alot of smarter people than me. SO, smartones, how do I "upload" a picture to the site? I have alot of pics stored on the computer, but I need REAL, BASIC, 1st GRADE LEVEL instructions on how to do this. I could call the Geek Squad at Best Buy, but all my money is tied up in our new Roo and the extra stuff we need for it. Besides, I have read alot of posts by RVers at this site and based on initial impressions, we are a highly intelligent and helpful group. (Was that enough "positive reinforcement" to get you to help me?) Thanks, hope to "show off" Barklee, the camping-est border collie alive. See can find every squirrel in any campground and let you know about it.

When you open the box to reply to this thread there si a littel paperclip icon in the upper part of the window. click on the icon to attach pics and then click upload in the new window to attach the pics to your message. You will not see the paperclip if you use "quick reply"

Or you can type your reply in the "Quick Reply Box", then "Go Advanced". The paper attachment option will show up there as well.

Too much of Barklee

Sorry to put more pictures of the dog, but after months of trying to figure out how to do this, I had to repeat the process quickly, so I did not forget how to "upload" pictures to any site. This is a basic task for many, but I have had a computer for 2 years and this is the first time I understood "how to do it". Just think, because of this site and my need to "show you my hound", the FR Forum contributors taught this retired teacher
how to do it". Good job...you all get smiley faces.Click image for larger version

If there was a dog that had the right to not trust people it was him yet all he ever wanted was love. I found him at the rescue group that took care of him and tried to get him on a healthy road again. We have had our fair share of ups and downs with him. He had horrible mange (from the stress of life), no hair on his neck or underside, huge nasty scabs and wounds all over his neck. He was terrified of collars but with time, love and a VERY expensive custom collar, he wears one with pride now. He is also a bit shy of "objects" like brooms, bats, big inflated balls, soccer balls. Took our kids some time to understand that he thought those things would hurt him. He is better with it now but will probably never fully trust a person holding an object like that while being near him.

Again, thank you. I have worked so very hard with him. He is crate trained, lead/leash trained, waits to be released for food, loves other dogs and cats, is gentle with my kids, knows how to crawl on cue, dances when asked...he is a spoiled baby and like I said - such a special dog. Sounds like you understand that "soul dog" thing with your elder yourself...well he is my soul dog. I am sorry you are missing your dog and hope that with time the new pup makes a special place in your heart as well.
It breaks my heart to see an animal mistreated. They rely on you for everything and give unconditional love. THANK YOU for rescuing him and giving him a great home. Mean dogs are taught to be that way by uncaring owners or owners with an ulterior motive. We need more pet parents like you!

Eloise loves to swim! She always gets very worried when we're getting ready to go camping. She is so afraid she's not going with us; we could never go without her!

This is our spoiled hound Jessie. She is getting older and a lot more grey. She loves to go anywhere, even to the vet since a ride is involved.
