Here is my camping buddy. He is supposedly half Jack Russel and half Walker Treeing Hound. Not quite sure how that would have worked.

But he has a lot of the traits of both breeds. He is a 50# loveable lap dog until he gets wound up, then you have a 50# Jack Russel Terrorist on your hands. Fortunately the hounds side is predominate.

What to do ??

We are planning a trip to Fla and we will be bringing our Basset with us. He is very friendly and loves other dogs, daily trips to the local dog park. But What to do when you have to leave your pet in the RV for an hour or two? He gets upset and can be very loud ? Not interested in doing that very often but sometimes it is not something you can change.

That's a pretty "touchy" subject and you will get a LOT of "differing" opinions. There are many threads on this. No matter what you do just make sure your pup is SAFE and secure.

We don't leave ours alone, they go with us or one of us stays with them. But that is our choice.

We turn on the air if it's hot....leave the TV on.....if it's not too hot we put on the fans and open windows. Only one of ours generally has a BARK problem so we put her BARK collar on. Ours are Bassets too. Maybe yous needs a buddy.
