Here is a link I started about dealing with them.http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ler-44986.html

When I picked up my camper they basically pulled it around front left it there. No thank you for your business, nothing. They did not fix the rear shade that is hanging crooked (not sure I spelled that right). And said the rear slide needed no adjustment (here is the picture of it)

I had to call lippert to get them the parts to finally fix my brakes the right way. Needless to say I will never set foot on their lot again. I will not deal with nor recommend them to anyone. They did not want to fix anything after the sell.

I called & spoke to the owner here when I was shopping for my Sabre, once I hung up the phone I knew he wasn't my guy to buy from...sorry to hear of the problems!

Don't know if you want to use them but Bill Plemmons in Rural Hall NC about 25 miles from Country Roads. Has done warranty work on my Forest River product that I didn't buy from them. The work was great and they called and had me bring my camper the next day after they received the parts from Forest River.

Thanks Phil I appreciate the info. I will keep them in mind. I actually live in Virginia. Country roads is 250 miles from me. In total I have made four trips down there. If at all possible I will fix the small things myself. If I need a dealer I will try to find someone closer to me. But if not I will give the dealer you mentioned a call.

Forest River seems to be a top notch manufacturer as evidenced by their performance at the 2013 Goshen rally. I wish they would give the boot to those dealers that so poorly represent their products. I hope you get your issues resolved and will be happy with your investment.

We love our new fifth wheel and having some issues really isn't that big of a deal. But trying to get things taken care of while dealing with people like this really makes things a lot worse. I just want to save people the headache I have had. Making a investment like this is suppose to be fun and exciting.

Nobody else might think it is humorous but I do. The dealer by me is also named Country Road and I have the same problems. (this is in Canada)

I purchased my Sabre from Country Roads RV in Lexington, NC on March 9, 2013. I dealt with Jeff the owner. I have to admit, it wasn't a bad transaction at all. But, I entered into the deal knowing I probably wouldn't be back for any issues unless they were major. I'm about 300 miles from him. I had been dealing with the only Sabre dealer in SC and after talking to him for over a month (nothing serious), visiting his lot to see the 32RCTS-6, going to the state RV Show (Columbia, SC) to see it again and just getting ready to talk numbers, MIL called and said DW's GM was admitted to the hospital and to get here as fast as you can. So we hightailed it to Charleston. When I called him the next day......he sold the 32RCTS-6 after we left. So I got on the internet and found it at Country Roads RV. Called them, told them I was going to pay XX and we came to an agreement. Scheduled the installation of my hitch and arrived on a Saturday morning. Got a very good walk thru, hitch installed and was on the road by 1m. Haven't talked to them since. They sent a thank you for your business note and a $25 Cracker Barrell gift card, a hat and a coffee cup and even through in some extras at their store. All in all, not a bad experience, I just knew I wasn't coming back unless it was really serious.

That is exactly how ours went also. Thankyou card with cracker barrel gift card. I was really happy with everything. But when problems came up it all went down hill. They are very opinionated people. Everything is great as long as you agree with everything they say.

I'm pretty lucky to have a great RV repair guy down here close to me who worked for a big place down in FL for years. He's done some things for me and charged very very reasonable prices. Probably things that could have been done under warranty, but, I wasn't driving back to NC for really small things. DW and I selected the Sabre for all of its good attributes. I called with a bottom line and he accepted it. Not a lot of haggling back and forth and I already knew I was behind the 8 ball being so far away, but I took the risk.. knock on wood nothing major happens.

I have bought two Surveyors from this dealer and had good experiences both times. We are especially happy with their service department. They happily fixed all the little nit-picking things I found on both campers. They have also been very willing to talk me through problems over the phone when I had issues while in campgrounds.

They have a large inventory (which is displayed with loads of photos and details on their website), and they have a new service facility that is very impressive. They are located about 22 miles from our house, which also helps.

They also have a dedicated parts manager and keep a lot of stuff in stock, so some parts don't have to be ordered. For the record, I don't know these guys except for occasionally doing business with them, but we've always been treated well there.

I just ordered my sabre from them and too dealt directly with Jeff the owner. He and his entire staff have been very professional and eager to answer my many questions. They were very good on price as well. The only place I found my sabre 36QBOK-7 any cheaper was at RV Wholesalers but I wanted a local dealer to deal with. This dealership is only 30 to 45 minutes from my house. I've also talked with Mike who is over the service department and he seems very knowledgable and good to work with so far.

I will report back if anything changes but so far I've been happy.

Sorry to say we were attempting to buy on two different occasions from County Roads (once with our son when he bought) & our current camper, both times we left with a bad feeling. Very Rude not caring if we bought or not......... rude on the internet as well when we had a question, after being so rude I assume it was the owner said his son would get back to us..... never did......would never buy there.... We both got a much better deal from our near by dealer anyway. Much nicer & much easier to deal with. Were treated with respect by our current dealer.

I just hate a rude dealer that thinks you are there & will buy there regardless......

I guess everybody's personalities are different. Jeff was very professional and was very willing to negotiate prices I showed him my quote from RV Wholesalers and he came within a few hundred dollars of their price and I didn't have to drive to Ohio and pick it up.

I've emailed him probably 50 questions and his responded quickly to everyone. He even went to bat to get me a very low interest rate on financing. So far I'm happy. Everyone can't get along that's why there are lots of dealers.

X2 on the email questions and low interest rates. I'm fast approaching my 1 year. I've called them once and the service department gave me some great advice over the phone. I'd probably look for something closer next time, but I have no complaints about the "process" with this dealer.

I would not recommend this dealer. While they have a decent inventory and the prices are good the owner is somewhat abrasive. The other staff in the office always had to go get the owner anytime we asked a question. In the end we just started dealing directly with the owner. Their service department is lousy. Items that should have been found and fixed during PDI were not taken care of. Those things that were fixed before we picked up our trailer were done incorrectly. An example of their work can be found in this thread, http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...2ck-57933.html . In addition to the fan the dealer installed battery had just about fallen off by the time we arrived home, numerous caulking voids were not filled, same for the roof, the emergency brake was not hooked up correctly along with dealer installed items having stripped screws. We also received a lot of misinformation during the walk-through. Fortunately I do not rely on someone telling me what to do and read the manuals. These showed the correct way to set up and maintain the trailer. An e-mail to the owner received a response that it's not our problem as we never do that during PDI and he seemed indifferent to the misinformation being given. Still wonder what the non-negotiable $399 PDI fee was for.

That being said Palomino has been pretty good to deal with although there was a short period of time with no response from them. For the few items I have found and decided to repair myself they have had the parts to me in a couple of days. There is a pending item that is too big for me to tackle and they have assisted in finding a local Forest River dealer to perform the warranty work.
