2018 puma 32RKTS water heater question

I have come from a 2008 Dutchmen 36fk camper to my new 2018 Puma 32RKTs camper. New camper has same water heater as my old dutchmen. My showers in the dutchmen were no problem. Lasted comfortably long enough, but the new Puma, I can hardly get wet good before it runs cold? What could I be doing wrong? Can I replace the 6 gallon with a 10 gallon? Or what suggestions do you have to help me?????

Make sure your water heater by-pass valve is closed.

X2 on Fonzies excellent advice. This thread may help you with the bypass/winterization valve positions.

If you have a outdoor shower, that is another place to check. If the valves are open the hot and cold will get blended there also. A quick way to tell is water will be dribbling from the shower head.

Thanks for the replies, I had looked at the link wmtire sent earlier and my cutoffs do not look like those. (different locations but I will look again.) Camper is closed up so I will look at it over the weekend. Checked everything else and all is set right.

I have a 2016 Puma 23FB. It came with a 6 gal HW heater. Before my first trip, I replaced it with a continuous Truma HW heater. The dealer gave me a couple hundred dollars and took the 6 gal HW heater as a trade in. It still cost me about a thousand dollars. Over a 10 year trailer life, that's a hundred dollars per year. Well worth the investment. Only heats the water I'm going to use since I'm not heating the storage tank. In the long run, I'm a very happy camper. Good luck.

question for johng4706

does the water heater you installed fit in the old cavity where the 6 gallon water heater was? Do you have any pics? That would be my ultimate upgrade for my new camper.
Thanks for the reply
