I bought the 295 over the 320 because it was a few feet shorter which will let me in some parks that the longer unit won't. The main thing is to buy a late model '15 or '16 unit. Some of the older models had problems with soft flooring and had to be returned to the factory for a redo. Also the older units had a very noisy bedroom air conditioner. It has been replaced for the newer models with a quieter (but taller unit) I am sitting at 13'4 1/2" with a F350. A little high to suit me but I can't lower the hitch any more. The Facebook group has lots of helpful folks

@johndeerefarmer

We literally just traded for a 2015 295RL this weekend. After seeing your comment I went and checked and ours shows a 06/14 mfg date.

What do we look for with regards to the soft floors comments and what other items were you mentioning were issues on the ones older than late 15 or 16 models?

Thanks.

They have moved the beams under the floor closer together as well as doubled up on the plywood decking. Also the walls are now R11 instead of R9. They also added an electronic door lock and went to Dometic quiet zone A/C's awhile back. The newer "modified" units also have
R11 in the walls instead of R9 which makes them 2" narrow than the older models. New units should be 98" wide instead of 100". I don't know exactly when they made the changes to the line and I think most all of the complaints have been about the 320RS. The best place to find out about issues with these units is to join the Columbus RV Group on Facebook. We have over 1000 members and they can answer any of your questions.

Thanks. Sent a join request over there.

I noticed ours was much heavier than others I looked at with a 12,222 dry weight on the sticker on camper. the few other 295s I looked at were in the 10k range so Im Wondering if maybe mine has some of the items you mentioned done already. Not sure.

I've been trying since my prior post to join the FB group but it has just been sitting as pending. How long does it take to get approved?

In your Facebook Messages, look in the folder labeled "Other" and see if a message is there from an Admin.
