38RLB - Winterize Fridge

Hi, we are owners of a new 38RLB destination trailer. Unit comes with a residential fridge with an ice maker (no water dispenser). We have never used it, or even turned it on.

Do I need to be concerned about winterizing the fridge?

Looking under the trailer I see what I think is the water line and there appears to be a shutoff valve on it which is off (I think). Even if there is no water getting to the fridge I'm concerned about the water in the line to that point and how to get antifreeze in there.

Thinking I may have to start up the ice maker this weekend just to be sure.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. Many folks do winterize by making pink ice. On start up they make ice until it is no longer pink. RV antifreeze is not like car antifreeze

most ice makers can be cycled manually. this may involve the use of a wire jumper. there are many videos on you tube that show how to do this. assuming yours can be manually cycled just cycle the ice maker a few times until pink anti freeze come out. it's easy to do.
