Attic vent cover
My 2011 31RETS has two circular vents about 5 inches in diameter on the roof. One just rear of the bedroom vent and the other a couple inches from rear of coach. I believe these are "attic" vents but not sure. I have lost the cover of one of these vents, and have searched rv stores and catalogues to no avail. Can some kind soul point me in the right direction to purchase a replacement cover. Thx

thanks, but those are plumbing vents. This vent has no internal plumbing attachements, and just seems to vent the roof. The cap is about 5 or 6 inches in diameter, 1 inch thick and flat. It attaches to the roof vent with a central nut, hidden in the cap.

Me too
Hey Spurge;
Just happened to me as well on my shakedown cruise. My problem is I do not know when in the past 10 days it happened and it has been raining EVERY day, really bad. I just hope I didn't get as lot of water in my attic. I plan on documenting this to FR in a letter. All hardware on both vents were loose. I think it is reasonable to expect stuff to stay attached, especially for a few weeks.I have attached a picture of my temporary fix. Now don't laugh, you do what ya gotta do on the road. By the way they are called Mushroom vents. Look on e-bay. Can't tell if it is the exact vent but an RV supply house out of WY has them. Send me a PM and I will send you the link.

Just lost one as well. bought mine from the same place in Wyoming. Couldn't find one at any RV place in the Houston area. Bad thing is you cant just buy the cover, you have to purchase the piece that screws on to roof as well. I put mine back on with a little silicone on the threads to help keep it from coming off again. Thought about loctite, but read a post were it doesn't work well with plastic.

Mushroom Vent when bought
Hi Guys,
I just bought a 2013 34REQS and when taking delivery from the shop, I witnessed an employee blanking the forward attic vent. When I asked him if it had been missing long, he said he didn't know. This concerned me as I had just gotten burned on my trade in because of water ingress and the resulting de-lamination. Let's just say I am a bit gun shy.
At any rate, he said that they checked and there was no sign of any water inside the trailer? Is this possible, as we have had a fair bit of rain recently?
My question is, are these vents open to the attic, or is there provision made to carry the water away in the event that the cap is lost, as seems to happen occasionally. I am thinking like a funnel/hose arrangement that carries the water to the bottom of the trailer and allows it to drop harmlessly to the ground.
I work on a ship and a lot of attention is paid to these kind of things, obviously. Possibly it would be overkill on a trailer? Impressive of the designer to foresee that if it is the case.
Any insight would be very much appreciated.
BTW I have bought two replacements off of E-bay.
Thanks for your attention....love the REQS
Dave
