Brought it home!

After years of trying to become an RV owner, my wife and I brought home our "new to us" 2014 Columbus 340RK. I have the 5'r set up in a very nice campground and have enjoyed getting over the "butterflies" of learning everything about this coach. As a former CDL-A driver, the 80 mile journey to the campground was pleasant with my '12 Ram 3500 DRW pulling the trailer with ease and backing into the assigned space at the campground was painless. I was surprised and pleased the truck could maintain 60-65mph while pulling hills in the mountainous east SoCal area, and have confirmed we made the right choice with our truck purchase.
I did make a severe mistake with my jacks when I went to do the auto level and had one jack pad shaft actually fell out of the jack during the leveling process...didn't ensure the manual pin was engaged...it was a major screw up on my part , but a call to my dealer and they came to the rescue and got me fixed well without charging me a service call.
Our dealer has been fantastic over the last 5 weeks, with me traveling for business, the RV sat on their lot the whole time until my travels settled down. I performed a detailed PDI over a month ago and they repaired all items found. Both roof AC units work well, the water heater, the auto level system, the tv, etc...everything works as it should.
Needless to say I am very happy with our purchase and this first "shakedown" camp setup.
I even met a fellow RV blogger from the Dutchmen owners site and we had a lengthy discussion and introduction. He will be at the campground for another week, so I have already met a friend.
Looking forward to sharing my experiences here with you.

Just over a week now.

Well, at this time, I have nothing to report.
I have been in the unit for over a week now, and other than a patio light burning out, all is well with our RV. Campground is quiet, neighbors are friendly, and no mechanical difficulties to report.
It took us over 5 years to finally commit to this purchase, and now I am wondering why we delayed so long. Probably it was due to our past selections/deals falling apart for various reasons, but somehow I think we were waiting for just the right one to show up.

Enjoy. We love our 320 RS. It does pull well behind our diesel too. Passing large trucks don't upset it either.

We have also purchased a 2017 Columbus 340rk. Brought it home yesterday only 80 miles from the dealer, pulled great and no bouncing. Also stopped easily behind my dually. Shame to let it sit for the winter but what a deal we got.

Am now stationed in the SE region of Arizona and the RV is doing very well. I am having a good time in the campground we selected and the whole experience of 1/2 timing in it during my work days has been nothing but fun. The 340RK seems to be well constructed and while I have discovered some major repairs have been done (black tank replacement), the RV is in great condition overall. I just discovered this week the factory installed Satellite TV cabling was installed poorly with the cable terminations loose on all the cable ends and the wrong frequency feed thru barrels were installed. (My satellite signal would not pass thru the RV cable setup). Easy repairs to fix this problem. I do have a few spots where the floors are spongy, and I see another forum posting that FR seems to have a problem with the floors, but I cannot be without my RV and take it back to FR for the needed repairs at this time.
