Ceiling leaking in a strong rain

We noticed brown spots on the ceiling joint strip after a heavy rain. I had a RV tech go on the roof to check the A/C seals. H said the A/C's were both good. One thing he did say was that the attic vent maybe the problem. Roof caulking and roofing materials all sound. Has this happened to anyone?

If you use the search function at the upper right of the page you will find a ton of articles about leaking roofs

I have looked at the search box for info. However I have an unusual case involving the attic vent. I isolated the origin of the leak being the attic vent by covering the vent. After several rains there where no leaks. Has anyone had this problem? I have not looked at other vent configurations to see if I have misfit.

OK if the problem is the vent is may be a misaligned cover however you might consider putting Maxxair Vent covers so that you can keep your vents open in the rain the added plus is it will stop your leak.

When you say attic vent are you speaking of a roof vent (14" x 14") or a true attic vent?

They are different, not all R/Vs have attic vents (some do) and sealing them may be different so a photo might help.

In either case, if you are sure that is where the leak is originating (you said maybe?) you'll need to get some sealer or Eternabond Seal Tape and get it sealed as quickly as possible.

Water leaks are fickle... the water can seep in from the roof and run halfway across the R/V before it finds a place to drip out or stain the ceiling.
