Columbus 5th wheel trailers.

I am considering buying a Columbus 366RL 5th wheel. What I would like is some input. Good, or bad. What is / was your experience with your Columbus? How is the quality, and workmanship? Have you had any major problems with the coach? Or the dealership/customer service. I presently have a 2013 Palomino Sabre 34REQS that I bought new in 2012. I've had some minor problems that my dealership took care of. And now I'm just dealing with normal wear, and tear. I put approximately 22000 miles of towing since I've had it. Now I want to upgrade, and is the Columbus a good coach?

Have a look at Heartland Bighorn (3 year warranty on Structure) which is above Columbus in quality or Big Country. Alternate would be a Grand Design which is similar. We made a decision for Heartland bass upon very poor sales experience from the Columbus, Cedar Creek and Grand Design sales departments.

We have a 2018 366RL with the 1492 package, picked it up new in September. Only used it twice, for the price, we absolutely love it. No apparent quality issues, only a few minor warranty things which is normal for new RV’s.

Good luck in your search!

Columbus

Good Morning: We have a 2016 320RS, and as with most of these questions, it comes down to research and personal preference. After about 2 years of looking and reading, we settled on the Columbus 320RS, the quality was right up there with any of the ones we looked at even the higher priced units. There was one issue with the furnace, that the dealer fixed in less than an hour. Other than regular maintenance, it has been trouble free, and we have traveled a little over 14K miles with it, and love it. Again research is your best friend. Good luck and have fun....

Columbus 5th wheel

We have a Compass 320RS that we like a lot. No real problems so far.

We bought a 2012 (first year of issue) Columbus 320RS and absolutely loved it. We bought a third party extended warranty with it and had some minor issues that were fully covered by the warranty (less deductible). After 5 1/2 years we made that fatal error and "just looked" at new fifth wheels...including Columbus.

The dual bathroom vanity in the Cardinal sold us but we got a very nice trade-in on our Columbus and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one down the road.

I think you've done your research, found what you love and will enjoy it.

We traded in our 2014 Sabre 33CKTS for a 2018 Columbus Compass 377MB because we wanted a mid size bunk room/den; the Compass was the only model that offered us the floor plan we wanted.
We really enjoy our Compass. The pullout couch in the den is actually comfortable, as is the one in the living room. Quite a novelty in the world of RV pull out couches. The bed in the master bedroom is extremely comfortable; so much so, that we want to buy the same mattress for home. We don't regret trading in our Sabre, as much as we loved it, for the Compass.
Best of luck with your decision.

Well thank you all for your responses. We did go and place an order for a Columbus 366rl 1492 package. We should be picking it up in 8 - 12 weeks.

We purchased a 366rlc a year ago and love it. As others have mentioned we had a couple minor warranty issues that were taken care of by the dealer but overall we feel it's a quality RV for the price.

Congratulations! You’re going to love the camper.

Just make sure the stone backsplash behind the induction cooktop is secured. Mine was glued to the wallpaper that covers the thin wallboard and the wallpaper let go causing the backsplash to fall and shatter the cooktop. I removed the wallpaper and reglued the backsplash, then installed cove molding so it would not fall again. Columbus warranty took care of the cooktop quickly.

Best of luck with your new Columbus. I have a 2013 320RS purchased in 2012. It’s been back to the factory 4 times, the latest last year with broken welds in the sidewalls. I originally blamed the production problems on it being an early production. I also had to replace the springs, shackles, hangers, and the Lippert Equa Flex last November. After following posts on the Columbus Owners Face Book page I realize that it’s like throwing dice to see if yours will be well built or a lemon. We love the trailer and have enjoyed it when it wasn’t falling apart and working properly.
