Columbus 5ver mods

Since purchasing the new Columbus 5th Wheel a few weeks ago, I have been extremely busy "making it ours". This is a list of the projects that have been working on since she came home.

Well, the list of upgrades/changes on the 320RS is growing. So far I have installed an exterior WiFi antenna with router and power booster, added a crank up satellite dish to the roof, added a Splendid washer/dryer combo, added a 1000 watt inverter, changed out all of the day/night blinds for roller shades, unscrewed the satellite cable wiring from the factory, added an Onan 5500 watt generator, added a slide mount TV to the storage bay with DVD player, and added a hardwire 50 amp surge suppressor. I still have coming a transfer switch to go between the inverter and the power panel, and am changing out the Trump mattress for a Sleep Number air mattress.

And that doesn't include the upgrades and changes to the tow vehicle. Adding the 5th wheel hitch, transferring the TPMS system into the truck, adding a pair of Air Lift air bags to the rear, moving the location of the 7 pin connector from the bumper to the left rear side of the bed, and finding a suitable mounting desk for the DW computer to run the MS Streets and Trips while we go down the road.

Whew, I need a vacation...........

You've been busy Sarge! Now get out there, go camping, and put all those mods to good use, you deserve it.

Actually I love doing as much stuff on the rig as I can. That way I know that it's done the way I like, and I learn something in the process.

Where did you get your generator from, and did you get the prep with the trailer?

The generator I got from Craigs List. It came from a toy hauler that burned up. The trailer already had the Gen Prep on it. The WiFi antenna is a Wilson Shorty RV antenna. It's connected to a router and a Wilson power booster. The set up works pretty well.

Thanks for the info. The only Wilson stuff I find is for cell, not wifi; would you have model numbers?

Here is a link to the antenna I have, purchased from 3G store.com. It is a dual band antenna that does broadcast cell signal, in this case from my Verizon modem. Omni RV 3G/4G Antenna with Spring Base, 21 Inches, 9 Reviews : 3Gstore.com

Ah, So it's not WiFi antenna and WiFi booster, it's cell. Thanks for clarifying that.

Finally received the Transfer Switch today that goes between the Inverter and the power panel. Now I can run the entertainment circuit on shore power as normal, but when dry camping and I turn on the Inverter it will automatically power up just the 15 amp circuit that all of the TV's are connected to.

It took about 45 minutes to put it in and get it all hooked up and working. Finally got to the end of the current list of projects, and tomorrow morning we head out for a few months. WOO HOO!
