Columbus Furnace

Columbus 320RS, has anyone had noise issues with the furnace? I'm getting a blower noise like something may be in the wheel or something is vibrating.
Has anyone looked into how to work on this? I have started to check into this and it's not accessible from the kitchen side, maybe from the basement area. Has anyone had this issue or had to work on the furnace?

Since the inlet and outlet are open to the elements, bugs and water can get to the "Squirrel Cage" fans that provide the air. Wasp nests and corrosion are common sources of fan noise.

Keeping the bugs out is excellent prevention.

Excellent investment !!! If only it did not sell for over 40 dollars in Canada ! It is in my definitely purchase list next time I cross the border. Factories should install these things as part of standard build.

herk, are those two circular screens all that is needed?

Goomph, just order from Amazon; they are $10. Shipping isn't going to be that much.

I was just looking for a picture in a hurry. Mine is all one piece; not two.

Also make sure you use one designed for the heater. If the screening is too small, and it gets blocked with dust and dirt, the blower may not get enough air to close the sail switch reliably.
