Finally pick up our 2014 320RS Friday

Our Special order 2014 Columbus 320RS arrived at the Dealer late Saturday night. We will pick it up on Friday, Aug 2nd. Will any current owners like to point out any items that I should be looking at closely during the PDI. We appreciate all the info on this site and I keep reviewing, but am looking for anything you may have encountered. Thanks

The only issues that we found since we picked ours up in March, was related to the bathroom. There were several items, Shower Head, Hose Holder at Toilet, etc. that were installed in the wallboard, with screws, that missed studs, and needed anchors. Also, there was no caulk around the shower doors. Simple things, but were missed. We have been pleased with the overall construction and operation of the 320.

We are picking up our 320rs on August 1!. You may want to use this check list at RV Lifestyle > Resources > Checklists > Pre Deliver Inspection (PDI) Checklist. It is extensive list. We are going to do some of the items listed here.
Good luck with yours.

Make sure the bottom shower track is not put on backward with the drain holes pointed outward.

Thank to all who have repiled

We appreciate the info and I building a list to use during PDI. JIMMIE - In answer to your question - PECO Campers 1825 Tucker Industrial Rd, Tucker Ga (Very near Stone Mountain Park) Definately the best prices in the South East that I could find. I have been working TJ (note) - I just sent them an order request and requested a price. They may have unit in stock if your not interested in ordering.

Thanks for the info - I really love this floorplan and the looks of this fifth wheel. Now if I can only talk the DW into giving up her Cougar HC and get one of these!

We also ordered our 320RS from Peco Last Sept. after going to the Hersey Pa.show, they are great to work with and TJ is a great salesman, also service dept is great also. We had very few problems with ours, you will enjoy it very much. it took 6 weeks to the day to arrive at Peco.

IF you know going in the PDI that you will have some problems, let the dealer fix them, do NOT go on your big dream vacation until you have a few dress rehearsals down with your new RV, you should be a happy camper too!

Make sure you camp with full hookups close to your dealer for the first nite or two. This allows you to check everything out on your own pace, find the boo-boos and bring it back to dealer for repairs.

Too many people rush through the PDI, sign on the dotted line, and blast off onto a cool neato vacation. Only to then be disappointed because things go wrong with their new RV. Don't let that happen to you!

We picked up our 320rs in June and the ONLY problem we had was someone forgot to caulk the bottom shower rail where it meets the fiberglass shower lip. This has been the most amazing, well built trailer we have EVER (#6) owned and are lookin forward to many years of enjoyment!

Wow.... finished our PDI today! Took well over 3.5 hours. It was worth it. The dealer had the coach inside on a nice clean floor. All the hook ups were connected including city water, cable and 50A service. They had all lights and both tv's on. They also had the kitchen and bathroom sinks filled with water to check for any leaks. We did a thorough inspection inside out and everything was found to be in good and working condition Climbed on the roof, crawled under the coach, kicked it, licked it and made sure it was in perfect condition. The PDI technician was a wonderful person and had the patient to let us do whatever we wanted.
One more week for delivery... (we are out of state and do not have truck to haul ourselves. This will be on a seasonal camp site for now). Can't wait to spend rest of the summer in this beauty!

Thanks again everyone

For all those who responded again thankyou! We are currently sitting in a hotel in Tucker, Ga (Atlanta), waiting for our 9 am appointment for our PDI. All your information will hopefully make certain that we get through this with all pieces in place and working.

Things to look for on PDI

Cable and satellite connections: have dealer actually hook up the tv to both cable and satellite to test. I've had 2 brand new rvs in the last few years and these connections on both of them did not work.
Dining table: check the hinged top to make sure it opens and shuts properly. Mine was so tight that the hinged lid sat above the table top and wouldn't close all the way.
Island: When locked down for travel the wheels fall through the heat vent, breaking the top of the vent. I moved the wheels so they sit on the carpet. Not a PDI issue but: make sure you move the island before opening the tv/fridge slideout. Mine slid over once and was sitting on the carpet. When I opened the slide the binding on the carpet ripped.
Fireplace: Thermostat is in the wrong place causing the heat to cycle and not give you the heat you want. Must be moved to the outside of the fireplace frame. Check all tie down strap points where they are screwed in. Most of mine pulled out.
